
To keep used batteries under excellent condition, basically there are 3 factors:
- Check, fix and clean battery outside, connecting parts and installation parts.
- Check electrolyte level and supplement with distilled water.

1.Maintenance of battery external parts
To clean outside equipments:
- Battery racket must be properly fixed.
- Battery topmust be cleaned by brushes, terminals or corroded areas can wash with luke water.
- If wire or connectors deform, break or loose and cause bad contact, must be replaced.
- If battery outside, such as container, cover and vent plugs are defected, must be fixed or replaced.
Water level check
Electrolyte will be electrolyzed due to charging during usage, water in acid will be vaporized and disappear, and cause acid level to drop, therefore must check acid level every month, if descented, should supplement distilled water to acid level, do not let plates above acid level and cause oxidization, absolutely don’r add in diluted sulfuric acid and affect battery performance.

- Please add in distilled water when acid level is low.
- Do not exceed highest waterline when do water supplement.

How to use gravity gauge
- Gravity gauge must be floating when testing, don’t let it detach to bottom rubber cork.
- The top of gravity gauge must not contact the top of rubber cork.
- The gravity gauge must not attach to surface of glass pipe.
- The correct reading illustration of gravity gauge ( A point is the correct reading point of gravity ).
The relationship between gravity value and temperature
The electrolyte of the same gravity’s reading value will differ because of temperature, so normally gravity showing is based on 20℃, calculation formula as below : S20=ST+0.0007(T-20):
S20=ST+0.0007(T-20)
For example : The gravity at 40℃tested as 1.26, what about gravity at 20℃?
S20=1.26+0.0007*(40-20)=
1.274
